دراسات المستقبلات في الوطن العربي: الغاية, والواقع الراهن, ومدخلات التراجع
الملخص
The importance of this research stems from the importance of future studies itself, which aims at anticipating future scenes as a way to help human being craft it or participate in its making.
As indicated from its title, the research intends to define the main goals that have been achieved by Arab future studies since its inception during the mid of the last century, signalling its current reality on the formal and informal levels, besides revealing the essential inputs that led to its decline.
Therefore, it seeks to prove the hypothesis that our backwardness in terms of future studies lies in the influence of cultural, social and scientific inputs in our thinking patterns that prevented or disrupted our bias to the future. To prove this hypothesis, methodological mechanisms were resorted to approach the inputs and outputs (Input-Output Approach).
The research confirms that the bias towards the future, when it becomes the dominant culture in the Arab cultural, social and scientific environments, then we can achieve the future we want for our nation, homelands, and ourselves. The desired future does not come by itself, but rather through preparation and advance preparedness for it.
